Gordon,

Would you put this in with the "Make a wish for things."

As I sometimes get requests for boots from our troop's, here is the information I have received for those that are new to the system (seems like bullshit to me as the troops should have as many pairs of boots as they need).

Ms. Juliann Najar: Thank you for the note and for the contribution you are making.  The Army uses a process known as (ADO) to get Soldiers replacement boots and other clothing items while they are deployed.   Deployed units are funded for ADO requisitions, so it doesn't cost the Soldier anything.   The unit supply sergeant makes the order for the Soldier.   This process appears to be working well, but the main thing is to ensure that we are meeting each Soldier's need.   While ADO is not managed by PEO Soldier, we can alert the responsible agency and will be happy to do so.

They should know it's their 1st Sgt. or supply Sgt.   So each unit no matter where they are would have this available through the "unit supply Sgt." or their 1st Sgt.

Army Direct Ordering (ADO) to get Soldiers replacement boots and other clothing items while they are deployed.

Uniform Supply: Army Direct Ordering for Soldiers deployed in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom ADO is for replacement only, not initial issue.   Units can enroll and use ADO after their first 30 days in theater.

SOLDIERS deployed in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom can replace worn-out Army combat uniforms and accessories online using the Army Direct Ordering program at https://army.kyloc.com.

The Web site provides instructions on setting up an account, submitting orders and selecting an approving official.

ADO is for replacement only, not initial issue. Units can enroll and use ADO after their first 30 days in theater. The unit must request to be disenrolled 45 days before it redeploys. The U.S. Postal Service ships the items directly to units’ supply personnel seven to 14 days after the order has been validated.

To enter the site, Soldiers need to supply their AKO addresses and their name.
