For those who have fought for it, Life has a Special Flavor the Protected will never know Welcome to "A Soldiers Wish List" Thank you for your support of these brave men and women. You can certainly make a difference in their lives during this difficult deployment away from their families and loved ones. Receiving mail and packages is often the highlight of a trooper's day, so when you "adopt" a soldier, sailor, airman or marine, Coast Guardsman, it's important to mail the first package ASAP. Please let Lisa know when you mail out your first box (only) at lisavwood@gmail.com so that we know that this "trooper" is receiving something from home. Any questions can be directed to me at soldiersmother2@charter.net . If you have decided to send packages during their complete deployment, remember that the last day to mail out packages would be one month prior to the departure date, otherwise it will come back to you after a long period of time. The dates of return are tentative and could change on your first mailing so please let them know that their name was given to you by "A Soldiers Wish List", so the trooper knows from where you received their name (for security purposes). Also, please include a note to let them know where this great gift is from. Remember that our troops are in "harms way" and may not be able to answer. Please don't participate in this program if you are expecting an answer, as their e-mail is not always available or working, but they do appreciate the boxes a great deal. I don't have anymore information except what I send to you. You will be their contact from this point on, not me, and the complete joy in what you are doing is overwhelming and something that will be with you always. Please remember it's called a "wish list", so you are NOT obligated to fulfill all the requests if you are unable to do so. If for some reason you find you are not able to do this, please let me know, so I may re-assign your trooper to someone else. For Assistance with Mailing Refer to the "Send a Package" link on our web site. If you have questions that are not addressed there, please contact Lisa at lisavwood@gmail.com. You may "adopt" as many as you feel you can handle. Please fill out the adoption form again for each additional soldier you want as it's the only way to keep the information in order, and for me to keep up. You can send them a package once, or continue to support them during their total deployment. Many people have enlisted the help of their co-workers or friends. For the Marines: Moto Mail allows Americans to send messages to deployed Marines Motomail@usmc.mil. Additional Resources For those who are interested, here is a website that I go to when I don't know if a "trooper" has come home or what. It's sad, but it is the most awesome tribute I've seen to our fallen Hero's .http://www.iraqwarheroes.com/index.htm http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties Please, let all your friends and family know they too can make a difference by "adopting-a-trooper." I get about 25 requests a day from Trooper's who sign up asking to be adopted. I am always in need more "adopters." Here is a great place to
